What is a "Robot" App Store?
The MyRobot App Store is a new concept. We specialize distributing and making applications for robots that can run on the robot's (positronic) brain or in the cloud. This contrasts with currently available App Stores that mainly sell applications that run on the target devices (usually phones).
Offloading robotic computation to the cloud is new and unexplored realm. Some people call it Cloud Computing, but we like robots so we call it Cloud Robotics.

Who Can Participate?
Everybody can!
The MyRobots.com Cloud Robotic is a realm where different people with different needs and objectives can interact in order to benefit each other.
Behold the four participant types:
- The Developer: You belong to a new generation of heroes capable of programming robot apps that increase the robots' abilities, intelligence, usefulness, and sometimes silliness. You do it for yourself, and for others in the intent of making money (there is nothing wrong about making money, we like money too). You might be a robotic geek, a seasoned professional, a company or corporation, or a robot in disguise.
- The Manufacturer: You are an innovative and open minded manufacturer of robots and you are interested in improving your customers' experience by offering add-ons "à la carte" and value added services. You are also interested in making money by selling the apps and robots.
- The Robot Owner: You are a tech savvy pioneer paving the way of the future of civilization. You want your robots to be useful and make your life easier; you want them to learn new tricks "matrix-style". By connecting your robots to the cloud, you can start reaping the benefits.
Disclaimer: Robot Owners are not stupid, they are probably among the top 5% of the most intelligent people on the planet (we know it, we own robots too). The benefits that are reaped by getting the apps need to overcome by far their cost (or involve funny memes).
- MyRobots Team: We are the guardian of the realm and make sure everything runs smoothly, we make sure that developers are paid and the users have what they pay for. We make sure manufacturers can unleash the potential of the MyRobots platform and in doing so, improve their robots and the service to the Robot Owners.
I'm a Developer, Why Should I Join?
We believe the future is digital. Tomorrow, the intelligence behind your robots will not be restricted to their physical platforms; most of the intelligence dictating their behaviour and actions will be in the cloud. This intelligence will be transferable to all robotic platforms, real or virtual. Information, knowledge, and skills will be instantly available everywhere.
We have seen tremendous transformation in technology in the recent years and we are going to see much more in the next decades. This evolution is exponential. The robot developers are the new heroes of science and technology and they know what is coming; They understand technology’s evolution. With the vision of one robot in every home and the interconnected world where all intelligent objects are connected to Internet, the robot developers understand the potential and the opportunities. Some say that there will be 50 billion connected devices by 2020. Our question is: how many of those do you think will be robots?
Once robots are connected to the Internet, what is the next logical step? The next step is the Web for Robots where apps will become a multi-billion dollar industry. Developers that will have started to experiment early, sell and build their Brand will have a huge advantage.

Great, we are glad to welcome you in the Developer Beta Program for the MyRobot App Store. The Myrobot Team is currently working on the infrastructure that will run and execute the robot apps in the Cloud. More information will come soon on this so make sure you register to the newsletter to stay in touch.
For the apps that will be downloadable and that robot owners will install on their robots, you can start to develop right now. You can suggest your app via the Support Center, under MyRobots department. We are just finalizing some details about the program. MyRobots will retain 25% of all transactions in order to maintain the Robotic Cloud and bring you some crazy and innovative stuff. In fact, our team is already working on the first app that will run in the Cloud and this app is destined to give huge benefits to the owners of a very popular robot on the market.
